Market and Ethiopian Food

We went out for a walk or stroll downtown today and we end up going to the St Lawrence Market. Well not in the market but outside the market cause the actual market place was closed but there was an Antique Sales going on across the street.

Yup we all went all 8 of us!! in a Caravan! From Mississauga to Downtown Toronto!! hahaha... we managed to Sardine ourselves..

well the market place was happening as there was alot of people in there! either to just escape the cold air which chilled down to 10C and there was a lot of antique on sales...

Well Ron end up buying 4 painting of birds, some masterpiece of a person of whom i forgotten his name! hahaha... the lady didnt know what was the painting about... -_-" it was sold at $35 each and all 4 for $100 but yea, came Lady Eileen to bargain and got it for $80 haha... turns out, Ron came home and found out it was sold elsewhere for $125 for 1pair.. wow.. haha and also its was painted at least at 1912 the latest.

Satisfied with his buy, and now we were set to go back to the car as the temperature and feel was so cold!! :S we were suppose to go for a picnic or to the beach but it is a real cold day...

Ryan and Granny... we had dinner at an Ethiopian Place.. its called:

African Palace.. this place was recommended and was written on a review section of a newspaper, and turns out i had seen one of those travellers/food-tester on TV went to this particular restaurant to try the food..

We got a family combo set...

The ambience was great, and they burn one of those essential sticks to give a tribal feeling..

Slow cultural song filled the air...

The dish came with this piece of dough! haha sourish pancake.

with a huge dish of 7 assorted dishes ranging from beans, peas, veggies, lamb and chicken.

it was eaten with the Ethiopian pancake...

It was delicious...and filling...

Ethiopian coffee is famous therefore we had some... the lady cooked some of the beans and brought it to our table and let is smell those aromatic beans... it was very aromatic, although i am not a coffee person i thought it smelled good.. cause i like the smell of coffee.. its just that i cant have coffee due to me prone to have migraine...

this was a weird dessert haha popcorn with dates? hahaha but i love popcorns! hahaha

well the ritual was, the oldest person on the table had to pour the coffee and drinks for others on the table, therefore my grandma won that job. While the they burn some aromatic thingy.. haha...

Well i since everyone tried the coffee and i know this was no ordinary coffee and i wouldnt come to this shop every other day! Therefore! CHEERS!!!

*have class tomorrow and yeah.. its a Monday!.. sigh... its here again! i have to continue my readings.. have 30pages for Environment, 150pages for Sociology and 150pages for Psychology... hope i can make it before my exam next week.. i have been slacking off all this week. i am so screwed.... family going back to Malaysia this coming weekend.. sad sad sad...*

Famous People Players

Well its Halloween Saturday! and what did we do for the night? well Ron had planned an evening dinner and show for us... at this place called "Famous People Players".

Its is a place where gifted people are given the opportunity to work and perform. Base on the website (www.fpp.org):

Well we were served a 3 course meal...

Starter with a plate of Salad

A platter of Lamb Chop served with Mushroom sauce.

The ambiance was great, where they decorated the room with Halloween theme and black light to make any white light glow...

there are 40 staffs in total running this place, both working as waiters/waitresses and also stage performers...From Broadway to Sea World, from Las Vegas to Radio City Music Hall, Canada’s internationally renowned black light theatre company has become a world-renowned national treasure...

After the main dish we were lead to the theater upstairs... where the performance was taken place.. along the way we saw a walk way full of pictures of visits and donation helped by celebrities and big names such as Tom Cruise, Oprah Winfrey, Diana Ross and the list goes on.... as you can see theres alot of pictures hanging behind and names written all over the wall on the building..

Well am not suppose to take a picture but i did take one quick shot... its basically like one of those shows we see on Youtube or some internet media surfers but this, I WAS THERE!! haha.. the people even jumped out haha...it was really awesome and entertaining.. Ryan was especially pleased.

right after 1hour show time we were brought back stage to see how it all happen and the offices...

while people were gathering to go behind stage i was busy taking picture with the stars and stage...

we were brief about how it all happen and the process of how it was done... Apparently the founder, Diane Dupuy mum was the one sewing most of the costume, at the age of 92 i think she looks so young!... and also strong.. well the story was said like this:

Diane said she was born a slow child, and she was always made fun off in school and life wasnt that pretty for her in her younger days. Than she pointed at a small theater which her mum made for her when she was young which inspired her to make a show. She said she may be slow but she has Imagination! therefore she decided to perform in front of people who used to laughed at her! and she was amaze and motivated with the applause she had, and so she begin this venture and still is continuing to entertain and inspire people to achieve more...

this is one of the dolls used in a black light scenario while the people moving it are covered in black clothing from head to toe..

they are open only on Tuesday and Saturday...

Tom Cruise picture is there! lolz.. and if u see carefully there are names of contributers on every leaves drawn on the wall.. and all the walls were covered with peoples names.. even the toilet...

after the show! Thus dessert was served! Pumpkin Pie... we have a selection of Chocolate cake, Carrot cake and Strawberry cake.

Exam Exam Exam

Omg.... Omg OH MY GAWD!!! hahaha... well have been busy studying.... ehem... yeah STUDYING!! haha.. first time in my life i study this hard, write notes, re-write notes (till people borrow my notes to photocopy and copy)/ i use to be the one doing that! haha, and writing a summary at every test! lolz!!

Well it feels good in the exam period cause i would be more confident i guess... haha trying to make a new study method... cause all my methods throughout the pass year always fails and not consistent hahaha... well i cant always fail.. doesnt mean i cant fail.. hahaha But i shall strive... what am i talking about.. i am so disoriented right now haha cause i just finish a heck lot of work loads and trying to fit in my schedule of spending time with my family as well as studying.. which are not complementary, so i am basically slacking back in Uni right now.. haha i am left way behind.. so much distraction..

i just realize that all my 5 courses is going to make me go crazy cause, i have exam almost every week! because if its not one course! it would be another the week after... and worst! some even comes in 3 course in a row(week)*... SUPER COMBO EXAM!!

Anyways, i have a story to tell... a funny yet silly story...
I was sitting, in the residence cafeteria having my lunch with my friend. Here comes my rezpal (residence pal), she than came and asked me.

Rezpal: When is your Economic exam?
Me: Er,! SIGH!! THAT CRAZY BAILEY (my prof name)* make the exam 8am in the morning. and ALL his classes is 8am!! so crazy!...

i than turn around and look behind me, The professor was behind me... OMG!!! what was a professor doing eating in the residence cafeteria! OMG he stared at me and i turned so fast! hahaha.. so embarrassing!!... he was just sitting 2steps away from where i was... SHIT!! hahaha... but anyways... the classroom is 350people so it could be anyone hahaha... worst i had the Econ test the next day! haha....

So far i finished my Psyche-soc-env-econs-Phil exam... i had 5 exams already.. But... i have Phil next week and Psyche-Soc-Env the week after and i suspect Econ the week after that!! i am so screwed!! ....

Oh ya now i am at home spending family time... lolz... cause they are leaving to Malaysia next week... :(

Canada- China- Paris

Well where do i start... i have been TRYING to get ready for my Economics exam, yea which was today... haha well while doing so, Fiona and Kevin decided to go downtown on a Tuesday afternoon.. so after i finished 5hours of class earlier in the day i went downtown using my Uni's shuttle bus which brings me to my Uni downtown..

The St George Campus looks so beautiful! lolz.. and HUGE!!!

I than took the Subway to meet Fiona and Kevin... It was easy to use... before i found them there was a Korean couple asking me for direction... instead of saying i dont know i pointed them to a totally opposite direction... :S omg! so sorry! cause they were asking me where is the City Hall and i mistaken it for the parlimen building! so i pointed them to Queens Park! lolz.. ANYWAYS!! i am sure they are fine now! lolz...

Finally found them and we went walking aimlessly... lolz.. found this cool school of art... :D

First we visited Toronto... walk around.. see the cinema, window shop mostly...

Holiday weekend

well, i regret not being able to spend more time with the family at home cause of Uni...

sigh, i am so left WAY back behind... and knowing me, i always think i will fail and i am not as smart as anyone so i have to put extra effort in what i do... I have been TOURIST-ing with my family since Thursday and i enjoyed it!! VERY MUCH!! sigh... wish it never ends.. moments like this are the type you wish it never ends... i realise how i miss my family so much...

as i was saying, i feel so sad that i have to come back to Uni so soon cause there is an Exam this friday, Econs and i know i am not really that great at it... haha somehow when i am at home i regret not studying and when i am in Uni i regret not spending time with family... how do i balance this out?? :S

Niagra Falls - The US and us..

Well i finally had the chance to spend more time with my Family who so dearly Flew in from Malaysia whereas i am so BUsy in University~~ chewah!! University hahaha.. cheh! anyways, really had been a busy week sort of, cause midterms is here and all... :S we chose Thursday because it was a weekday, less people meaning less crowded! yay!! And so i finish my 8-9am class of Economics off with the family on a field trip to Niagra Falls..

Well everyone enjoyed the view... its a magnificient fall! if your in Canada this is the place to head first to see a first hand, Nature's best creation... well of course there's human advancement which made the place more interesting... like MARVEL, RIPLEYS, HAUNTED HOUSE, Worlds largest INDOOR AVIARY??? (not so much) hahaha

Anyways, we stayed outdoors more.. hehe... it was a chilly weather not too cold!! it was great! perfect! its like Malaysia after rain temperature...18C..

well the theme was Dress OUTRAGEOUS!! so i did!! haha let me introduce my costume.. haha.. I am a Lost Tourist/Student! Lost between the Canadian and Malaysian Weather! so i am all dressed up for Summer and Winter! and also Sleep and goint out! cause of the shoes... Home FlipFlop and Sports shoes... haha

Host Community Meeting

Ok, No picture... sigh... sad..sad ...sad... so i have to write and visualize the content...

My Community consist of 26 people and 1 Don. All of us are first year students, so every week we will have a community meeting with each other so the Don could tell us the happenings of the week or the month... our don is Kendra.
She suggested that every room and their roommate would have to host a community meeting for every week, turns out my roommate and I were the second room and i had a brainstorm of a random thought! hahaha for some of you! you know me!! so random... so i was thinking of a SILENT NIGHT!! so called it Meditation... hahaha

And yea, the previous group decorated the common room with patches and a sign on the wall and served Tim Hortons... so i decided to serve Fruits instead and yea, a moment of silence and meditate...

Yup, bought the fruits with Ron and Mum 3 days before in Yuen Ming, and store it in the common room pantry...
The day came, which was today...

So had to made notice and post it on people's door.. 24doors.. trying to be creative, i used TISSUEs/serviette hahaha... and knowing me, my handwriting is just plain ugly... haha so Janice and Rain helped me out while i studied for my Soc test tomorrow! hahaha...*which i am suppose to be doing now* hahahaha... anyways! they helped me draw on 24 piece of tissues which i grabbed in the cafeteria! haha... and paste it before dinner time... (we did all this after our class of the day ended)... i just had to write and draw and outline, while my dearest pals do all the artistic work! haha will try to grab one and take a pic of it... :S

Anyways... i sort of tried to keep my mind of it.. 2hours to go.. so i read some Soc... and.. cant concentrate... die...hahaha...
Cut the story short:
9.45pm called roommate and Janice was already here, helped cut the fruits.. with 2 BUTTER KNIFE!! hahaha how pathetic!! hahaha.... the apple looked... erm fine.. but the ORANGES as i predicted! it will end up all Mushed up! haha so it did... a little.. haha... anywho...
So nervous.. i kept thinking its a stupid idea! haha... so end up just proceed with the silly idea.. after the announcement by the Don was conveyed, i did my thing... -_-" lame.. haha

I brought the speakers and connected the psp! and 5minutes of Meditation....everyone closed their eyes... (SORT OF)!! haha and between the session people start laughing.. -_-" and also eating haha.. sheesh.. but i dont know la! i was too nervous to recite anything like "Inhale" and "Exhale" haha... so just let the music flow and moment of silence.. :S

At the end... *i think that was one of the longest 5minutes haha*
everyone enjoyed it and all.. i hope they meant it la! hahaha... and the food was all finished! yay!! hahaha..

The Geng Came - Fiona's Birthday

YAY!! the geng flew from Kuching!! yup yup we had dinner.. i came home for 2nights... due to certain circumstances i cannot stay long... I have exam this week and also everyone is getting sick.. (Jet Leg i assume)*
